Harbinger's Lamp has no accounts, no cookies, no analytics and no advertising. The few settings it remembers stay in your own browser and are never sent to us. Our sign-in sites are invitation only: for those we keep what is needed to sign you in and run each site, we use sign-in logs only to make sure access is correct, and we never sell your information. The details are below.

Harbinger's Lamp is a Harbinger Innovations project. Harbinger Innovations is run by an individual, not a business. You can reach us at harbingerinnovationshelp@gmail.com.
This policy covers Harbinger's Lamp and the sign-in sites described below. Other Harbinger Innovations sites that link to this page follow this policy too.
Harbinger's Lamp
Harbinger's Lamp is public: there is nothing to sign up for. It uses no cookies, no analytics, no tracking pixels and no advertising.
To remember a few choices, it stores these items in your own browser. They stay on your device and are never sent to us.

Map charts draw their own base map from data files served with the site (Natural Earth, NOAA and OpenStreetMap data, built in ahead of time); they make no third-party requests and work offline.
Harbinger's Lamp is hosted on Amazon Web Services (Amazon S3 and CloudFront).
Sign-in sites
Our other sites need an account: My Account (/login),
Family Tree, BereanAI, Eagle & Phoenix and the HymnPresenter
download page. They are invitation only. We create each account
ourselves; there is no public sign-up.
For each account we store:
- your email address, which is your username;
- your authenticator (TOTP) secret and/or your passkey’s public key and device label;
- which sites the account may use;
- counters used to lock an account after failed sign-in attempts.
When we create your account, we send you a welcome email through Gmail.
Sign-in logs. Each sign-in records your username (email), your IP address, your browser (user agent), the time and which site you signed in to. We use these logs only to make sure access to the sign-in sites is correct, for security and to stop abuse.
Sign-in token. After you sign in, a token named
bereanai.jwt is kept in your browser’s localStorage. It is
shared across the domain and is valid for 8 hours. It is not a cookie.
The sign-in sites are hosted on Amazon Web Services (Amazon S3, CloudFront, Lambda, API Gateway and DynamoDB).
Family Tree
A family tree is shared only with the members of that tree, much as on Ancestry.com. It contains living relatives, which is why it is behind sign-in. A copy of the tree is cached in the signed-in user’s browser (IndexedDB) for up to 7 days. Photos are stored with a cloud storage provider (IDrive e2) and shown through short-lived links.
BereanAI
Your questions and the answers are processed by third-party AI and cloud services, including Cerebras and Amazon Web Services, and by web search when the assistant looks something up. Your conversations are kept for as long as you want them. To have them deleted, email us.
Eagle & Phoenix
Game state, including player usernames, is stored while a game runs and is cleared weekly.
HymnPresenter
Signed-in users get a short-lived download link. Beyond your account and sign-in, the page keeps no other data.
Service providers
We rely on these services to run the sites:
- Amazon Web Services: hosting for Harbinger's Lamp and the sign-in sites; the sign-in service and its data; AI processing for BereanAI.
- Cerebras: AI processing for BereanAI.
- Web search: used by BereanAI when the assistant looks something up.
- Gmail: welcome emails, and our contact address.
- IDrive e2: Family Tree photo storage.
None of our sites use cookies, analytics or advertising, and we do not sell your information.
Your choices
- You can remove everything Harbinger's Lamp has stored at any time by clearing this site’s data (or its local and session storage) in your browser’s settings.
- To have your account, or your BereanAI conversations, deleted, email harbingerinnovationshelp@gmail.com.
Children
There is no minimum age. Accounts are only created by invitation, so a child’s account involves a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without a parent’s or guardian’s involvement. If you believe a child’s information was provided without that, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and its effective date.
